Have you ever had a sleepover with your friends and you spent over half the night trying to find something good and clean to watch together? I know I've been stuck searching for hours before.
Well, have no fear. Today I'm coming at you with a huge list of good, clean movies! (and some not-so-clean, but nothing bad, ok?) I've divided the movies into two lists: super clean and not as clean. I then divided those two lists into decades, so it'll be easier for you to find just what you're looking for when you come back here to find something to watch. *winks* What something black and white? I gotcha. Want something newer? I gotcha. xP
I know of a lot more good, clean movies, but I tried to think up ones that are a bit more girly than others, thus why I'm calling it an encyclopedia of movies for a sleepover *winks*
There's a lot here, so I should just get started, but first I just wanted to say that I won't be telling you a whole lot about each movie (that would take forever). I will, however, link either a clip or the trailer if there is one to be found, so if it sounds like something you'd be interested in you can look into it yourself. I will be talking about what's in the movie (as far as how clean it is), and why I think it's better for certain age groups and stuff like that. Also, I will be giving it a cleanness score between 1-5!
And now. Let's talk about movies!
Super Clean:

Year: 1936
Starring: Gary Cooper, Jean Arthur
The only thing I can think of that is in this movie is at one point Mr. Deeds doesn't remember coming home the night before, and finds out he was drunk. And I think might be a statue of a barely clothed woman in one seen.

Year(s): 1938-39
Starring: Bonita Granville, Frankie Thomas
Yes, this is four movies, but I figured I'd just talk about all four at once.
So, honestly there's nothing in these movies. Not a thing I could think of anyway. Unless you count Nancy looking into cases when her father tells her to stay out of it *shrugs* They're just four super good movies and the best Nancy Drew movies I've ever seen. Bonita Granville will always be Nancy in my mind.

Starring: Jimmy Stewart, Jean Arthur
So, Jean Arthur's character's family is crazy in this movie, but I can't think of anything in here worth mentioning or taking a score off. she may wear an evening gown in one scene, and it might be a little low, but I could thinking of a different movie with Jean Arthur xP

Year: 1942
Starring: Jean Arthur, Cary Grant, Ronald Coleman
Honestly this movie is super clean. Cary Grant's character is an escaped convict, but innocent, and Jean Arthur's character is living with the two men as the housekeeper and stuff, but I don't think these things are enough for me to give this movie a lower score.

Starring: Shirley Temple, Dicky Moore
A teenage Shirley Temple and Dicky Moore. What's not to love? There isn't anything in this super cute movie. Besides a bum of a father, though he is very lovable *laughs* and a teeny tiny peck of a kiss xP

Year: 1944
Starring: Ginger Rogers, Joseph Cotton, Shirley Temple
This movie is sad. Joseph Cotton's character has PTSD so there are some scenes that might be slightly scary for younger children. And Ginger Rogers' character was attacked and she tells Shirley Temple's character about it, but it doesn't show anything pr go into detail. Other than that there is only some drinking at a New Year's Party and a kiss or two (if you care about that sort of thing)

Starring: Judy Garland, Tom Drake
Can't think of anything in this movie worth lowering the score for, but there is one scene that I always found a little creepy (the Halloween scene), and there is a scene where a couple girls are dressing and you see them in there very old fashioned underwear.

Year: 1945
Starring: Jeanne Crain, Dana Andrews, Dick Haymes
One scene the parents go into a dancing show, and you see a woman advertising for the show. At one point a judge at the fair gets drunk, and closer to the end of the movie Dick Haymes' character also gets drunk after finding out his girlfriend is married. All these things aren't super big points in the movie so I am giving this movie a pretty high score, considering.

Starring: Shirley Temple, Jerome Courtland
I love, love, love this movie, and the only reason I am giving it a lower score is this:
The entire plot of this film is that Shirley Temple's character has to keep her brother's marriage a secret, which leads to some hilarious happenings, such as: people think she is pregnant. Of course this is extremely scandalous and her parents freak out. There's nothing bad in this movie otherwise, unless you count the opening scene where Shirley Temple's character decides to sell kisses to the soldiers (which she gets in trouble for).
This movie is super cute and funny, and though I can't find it on DVD anywhere (*sniff*), it is on YouTube.

Starring: Shirley Temple, Darryl Hickman
Yes, this movie has two titles. Can get confusing, I know. It goes along with Kiss and Tell, though quite a few of the characters were re-cast (including her boyfriend, Dexter *sniff*) and they seem to ignore most of the things that happened in the first movie.
I don't think there is anything BAD in this movie, but Corliss (Shirley Temple) does get herself into a scrap and nearly has to marry a 36 year old man, which is slightly disturbing when you think about it xP

Can't think of anything in this movie. Unless, again, you count an evening gown.

Year: 1954
Starring: Howard Keel, Jane Powell
The only thing in this movie is a dance number where all the girls dance in their, once again, old fashioned underwear. Growing up we would skip that song if we were watching it with our brother of boy cousins, but if you're just watching it with a group of girls, you're fine.

Starring: Yul Brynner, Deborah Kerr
There really isn't much in this movie, but there's enough for me to lower the score. As Yul Brynner's character has many wives and Deborah Kerr's character's dresses sometimes aren't the most modest. Also, this is Asian culture so they do mention Budda.

Really can't think of anything in movie, other than it's a little sad xP

Walter Brennan's character does go to jail for making corn liquor. But other than they this movie is so clean!

Starring: Cindy Caroll, James Darren
There were several different Gidget movies. I've watched a few random episodes of the show here and there, as well as clips from the first Gidget movie and a few others, but this one is the best, in my opinion. Cindy Carol and Sandra Dee are the best actresses who ever played Gidget, if you ask me.
There isn't anything in this movie that I can think of. Unless Gidget having a crush on an older man bothers you.

The three letter "s" word is used once or twice, and since that word is a pretty big deal to me, this movie doesn't have a very high score, but it's still a good one (better than all the re-makes, for sure)

Soooooo as far as cleanness, this movie is 100% a good movie. and I loved it.
BUT. If you decide not to watch this, I will understand. This is coming from someone who has lost several family members to cancer - one of them being really close - and it DID hit a little close to home, and I understand why my mom and aunts won't watch it. (though I doooo want SOMEONE to watch it because I wanna talk about it xP)
also, I sobbed.

the one and only reason this movie here in the not so clean section is how some of the women dress in here. So if that doesn't bother you, this is a super good and cute musical.

So, this is probably the worst movie on this list, but I love it. (it's basically a fictional
I Still Believe)
There is some swearing, some inappropriate clothing (not toooo bad, but it's there), and some suggested talk - including a scene that we always mute. I always watched this movie with my older siblings who would mute, and now I am the older sibling doing that (I'm so old *laughs*)

Starring: Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson, Colin Farrell
I have this movie listed as not as clean because there are few swear words, and there is a scene or two that might disturb some people. One involving someone trying to drown them self and a couple more involving drinking.

Starring: Felicity Jones, Diego Luna
This one is here, simply because it's Star Wars. Maybe that's not a good enough reason to call it not as clean, but *shrugs*
Year: 2013
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Zendaya
thiiisss one so super good, promise. But there is some costumes that aren't very modest, and some of the dancing isn't that great, so it's here *winks*
phewwwwww that was a lot *wipes sweat*
