*last updated March 2022*
this is my blog. just a little corner on in the internet where I share bits and pieces of my life for me to look back on later. and hopefully bring you some enjoyment in the process.
I am Daminika (pronounce Dah-Min-Ika). A 22-year-old sinner, saved by Grace. I am a graduated homeschooler, and proud of it. My dream in life is to be a homemaker - wife and mother. As of now, I am as single as you can be, and trying to be content in this season, cleaning houses with my sister, and spending all my money on coffees and books.
I am an old fashioned girl, who believes in old fashioned love.
I live in the PNW and love it. Some places that are special to me are Eastern Oregon and New Hampshire - I grew up going to Eastern Oregon, where my Grandpa owned a wonderful Ranch, and my other grandparents live in New Hampshire.
One thing people always seem to forget about me is just how much of a country girl I am. I may have my hair done nice, and I may have some make up on, but put some country music on, put me in a pickup truck, and take me to the mountains, thanks.
I call my blog Walking in the Sonshine. Dancing in the Rain.
'Cause if we walk in the sunshine of Jesus Christ, we can learn to dance in the rain.
And I do love to dance in the rain.
Some of my fears are: Africa, being forgotten, choking, being alone, losing a loved one (again).
Some things that make me happy are: drives through the backroads. being an auntie. vinyl records + their static. the smell of coffee brewing. good books. that first sip of your iced coffee. the dance we do when we get good food. wind in my face. sunsets. snail mail. blowing bubbles in the summer. sunshine on my shoulders. a good, sad movie. Randy Travis. Rick(y) Nelson. the flicker of a candle. grass beneath my bare feet. a good episode of Psych. that puff of dust when you pat a horse. Louis L'Amour. good Country music. singing in the car. Rain. the fair + rodeo.
a song that says it better than I can...

I love reading about pages. Why is a fear of yours Africa? I'm very curious about that one. Facebook... It kind of bothers me. I have it but I never go on it. Not worth the hype. The reason behind the name of your blog is great! Very lovely! I've been enjoying your blog.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Africa one of my fears? Well. ELEPHANTS! LIONS! *shudders* ;P well, I actually didn't think Africa was that scary till I watched the Man vs Wild episode where Bear Grylls goes to Africa and.... *shudders again* ;P
Deleteyeah, I don't really want a FB anymore. I have Instagram, and I enjoy that. But FB has too much news, and people sharing things that we don't care about... gets annoying ;P
I'm glad you enjoy my blog!! Thanks so much for being the first to comment on this page! XD
I LOVED your about page, and I love sparkles, too! I also love the reasoning for your name... although, I rather liked your name even without explanation, haha :). So cute!
ReplyDeleteBlessings in Christ,

ReplyDeleteI also love my family, milk, Michael Buble, skies + stars, fireflies (except we call them lightning bugs xD) babies, + fourwheelers.

Oh I'm so glad you found me! Because now I found you! *runs over to your blog and pushes follow* <3
Hi Daminika! It's always nice to see another homeschooler blogging!! That's cool that you clean houses, I clean a church building and babysit at a co-op part time, but I'm thinking about becoming a dental assistant. :)
ReplyDeleteI resonate with all of your fears except Africa, I hope to go there for mission work in the future, but I personally can see how it would be scary with all of the sicknesses and different animals, haha.
And YES to coffee, snail mail, babies, and ice cream!! I can't wait to be an aunt, I'm the oldest of my siblings, but I think it's going to be so cool and I hope my nieces and nephews will all be my future kids best friends. :D
Cute blog, it's nice to meet you!
Hello there!
DeleteGood for you for hoping to go to Africa for mission work! But, yeah, it sounds scary to me *hides* xP
